Challenge Week!

The Question:  In the world of YA there seems to be an abundance of female authors, but Dan Wells is among the males present in this genre.  Which male authors would you highly recommend? Let us know in the comments below!

The Challenge Winner will receive an ebook copy of The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. This way you can participate in the Immortal Rules Read-a-Long next month!

Well well, my fellow Bout of Book-ers! You have landed at THE CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGE!
Are you ready? I think you are!  Let’s do this…

For this challenge, I will ask you several questions:

  • Choose your favorite contemporary of 2012 (thus far)
  • Choose your favorite contemporary COVER of 2012 (thus far)
  • and explain your biggest *SURPRISE* contemporary book of this year..
  • (SURPRISE contemporary means: the book you may have not expected to love, but did)

Here’s my responses:
Favorite Contemporary thus far is: Pushing the Limits By Katie McGarry
My favorite cover is My Life Next Door (seen left) by Huntley Fitzpatrick
and my SURPRISE contemporary would have to be     Something Like Normal by Trish Doller.  I didn’t think I would like the male persepctive, but in FACT,  I adored it!  I’d love to read more from a male point of view!

Now: Answer in the comments below with all your responses!  This challenge is only TODAY so you will definitely wanna get started!
The prize will be a copy of CATCHING JORDAN by Mirana Keneally

and a copy of  THE DISENCHANTMENTS by Nina LaCour
Have fun!

I’m sorry I’m late to the party here.. but don’t hate me.  I was in Maryland for vacation!  But I’m here now!  Ready to read and read and… talk.  And oh, right.  READ.

A Bit About the Hosts

The Fall Into Autumn Reading Challenge Presents to you…
A bit about our hosts:

Cass- I’m Cassie and I’m 27 and the head of this here event! I read some adult fiction, mostly mystery and suspense and tons of YA! I’m well aware that I fear sci-fi and fantasy, so I’m attempting to change that this fall!  I’m twitter obsessed and a blog-a-holic.  I read book blogs all day! Its crazy!  I hope we can all accomplish our goals during this challenge! You can find me here, on Goodreads and Twitter.

Danie– I’m Danie and I blog at Booktacular. I read mostly YA and mystery/suspense/thriller novels, and not very many romance (whether it’s PNR, historical, etc). I think I’m going to try to change that for the challenge. I can be found on twitter usually ALL. THE. TIME. – even if I’m not tweeting, I’m reading what other people are writing about! My handle on there is @booktacular. You can also contact me on Goodreads or by email.

Alexa- I’m the head figure of the blog Pages of Forbidden Love, the one who originally started it all. I’m a 22 year old college student majoring in Nuclear Medicine. My first love is YA and my second will always be Adult Romance. Ever since starting the blog I have expanded to try manga, urban fantasy, sci-fi and even some audio books. I love the blogging community because I get to talk about my favorite hobby with people who feel the same way. You can find her on twitter as pageoflovealexa.

Loretta- Hi I’m Loretta. I’m 26, and reading is my thing! I am Zombie Crazy! I love coffee & shoes! I am a Mom of 2. Wife of 1, who dreams of Harlin on a regular! I also am the owner of Between the Pages and can be found on Twitter Facebook , and Goodreads .

Soon we will be telling you all some books we plan on reading for the challenge.  In the meantime, compile some books you would like to read for the Fall Into Autumn Reading Challenge!  And make sure to join in the fun and sign up here!

If you’re participating, feel free to add our read-a-long banner!  Also, provide your link below 🙂
Have questions about how this will work? Ask away! Here are some common ones.
Hop over to Margie’s post to see more about the book Partials, itself.

Question:  Will there be challenges and giveaways?
Question: Will there be discussions?
ANSWER: Weekly!
Question: WHEN will the discussion post go up?
ANSWER: Each Sunday we will post a discussion topic, where we can all sound off about what is going on in the book at that point.  Did you read ahead? Don’t spoil! But be sure to talk with us about the part we’re all up to!  The challenges are unannounced as of now.  Want to help us out? Shout us a holler!
Question:  What is the giveaway?
ANSWER: As for the giveaway, we’re unsure what to give!  Our next Read-a-Long is going to be Sept. 3rd, for Julie Kagawa’s The Immortal Rules so, giving that book away is an option.  What do you think of that?
