Its basically the end of the year, and Jamie over at The Perpetual Page Turner has compiled her yearly survey for all us book-lovers out there to take! So, here we go!

…the entire Hunger Games Trilogy.

Crossed by Ally Condie.  I really enjoyed Matched but couldn’t finish Crossed.

Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2012?

Best series you discovered in 2012?

Shatter Me Series/ Hunger Games Series.  I was late, I know!

Best book that was out of your comfort zone or was a new genre for you?

Is all the YA an acceptable answer? Because I mostly read adult before this year.  And due to the Hunger Games and the Maze Runner, I became an AVID lover and reader of ALL the YA.

Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2012?

..Its technically 2013 release, but Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi.

Book You Read In 2012 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

I really don’t re-read.  But, maybe I will re-read Catching Fire, but only because I’ll have to catch myself back up before seeing the movie.

Favorite cover of a book you read in 2012?

Most memorable character in 2012?
Mara Freakin’ Dyer. [The Unbecoming/Evolution of Mara Dyer]

Most beautifully written book read in 2012?
Delirium Series.  Lauren Oliver can destroy anyone with a pen and paper.

Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2012?

Where She Went, Gayle Forman.  And yet again.
Slammed; Colleen Hoover.

Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2012 to finally read?

The Hunger Games series.  What was I THINKING!?

Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2012?
“Love: It will kill you and save you, both”
― Lauren OliverDelirium

“I run for I don’t know how long. Hours, maybe, or days. Alex told me to run. So I run. You have to understand. I am no one special. I am just a single girl. I am five feet two inches tall and I am in-between in every way. But I have a secret. You can build walls all the way to the sky and I will find a way to fly above them. You can try to pin me down with a hundred thousand arms, but I will find a way to resist. And there are many of us out there, more than you think. People who refuse to stop believing. People who refuse to come to earth. People who love in a world without walls, people who love into hate, into refusal, against hope, and without fear. I love you. Remember. They cannot take it.”
― Lauren OliverDelirium

One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging in 2013?

Going to a bookish event! That would be really fun and I wish I could have gone to anything this year but I was far too “new” to this world!

Final Thought:
I opted to skip the Blogging Section simply because EVERYTHING was new to me this year.  But, there was a question about the post that got the most love, and that was my Author Interview with Trish Doller.  Since I adore Trish so much, I wanted to link back to that so if you didn’t read my blog then, you can check it out!

TTT: Top Ten Books I’m Most Thankful For

Thanksgiving Week Edition of Top Ten Tuesday!  Top Ten Books We’re Most Thankful For is what we’re talkin’ this week!  And boy oh boy do I have books I am thankful for! Join in the fun at The Broke and The Bookish!

1- The Art of Racing in the Rain: Garth Stein
This book showed me how to feel for a dog that wasn’t my own, and how to care for characters more than any other book has been able to.  I am going to forever recommend this book to anyone with a heart.

2-The Outsiders: S.E. Hinton
For being the best book EVER – in eighth grade, and now! This book has stood the test of time.  Just like Ponyboy and Dallas.  And if you haven’t read it? Don’t talk to me.

3-The Green Mile: Stephen King
Don’t ask questions.  Just read it.  This book is amazing, and it shows you a side of life you will never (hopefully) see otherwise.  Life on Death Row.  Its so, so, so, amazing.  And written by the King of Horror.  Can’t go wrong.

4-Delirium: Lauren Oliver

For showing me life after The Hunger Games.  Oliver showed me that I COULD love another series as much as The Hunger Games!  I love this series and CANT WAIT for its conclusion in 2013!

5-Slammed: Colleen Hoover
What’s that? I haven’t talked about this book enough? Okay, good! I didn’t think so either! 😉 Slammed is one of those books that stays with you, and leaves you thinking about how it made you feel.  It is just.. EPIC.

6-Where She Went: Gayle Forman
For beautiful writing, amazing characters and keeping me on the edge of my seat.  I love Gayle Forman OH SO MUCH.  She truly has a beautiful way with words.

7-The Kite Runner: Khaled Houssini
Seriously, this book is a masterpiece.  I thought I’d hate it.  I put off reading it.  I tried to avoid it.  But I had to do it.  And boy am I glad I did!  This is a must read, and I truly believe I will never read anything like it ever again.

8-The Maze Runner: James Dashner
This book is unlike any other dystopian I have touched.  The world building is truly phenomenal.  However, this book is on the list for a more important reason!  It is what made me want to start blogging!  So in essence, it brought me to you guys! 🙂

That’s it for this edition!  I’m not putting ten, cuz well.. I never do.  And I’m in a bit of a rush today! I hope you all have a GREAT Thanksgiving!  Don’t forget some wine, and your sweatpants for after the feast!

TTT: Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read!

So, its been a while, but this was an awesome time to jump right back into Top Ten Tuesday.  Of course hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!  Be sure to join in!  Its tons of fun!
This weeks topic is REWIND!  Which mean I get to pick any topic I want that I haven’t done before.  So I chose..

Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read!

1.  The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
I’m a sinner.  I know.  Awful, awful, awful.
2.  The Jenny Pox Series J.L. Bryan
I haven’t read this yet.  And thats about to change! Its my first challenge book and I’m super excited about it!
3.  Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Worse is, I own it. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.  But I REALLY need to read this.
4.  Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
I don’t watch the show, because I’m not so sure I’d like it.  But I’ve heard such wonderful things about this series.
5.  The Alex Cross Series by James Patterson
Mr. Patterson, I apologize!  I just thought it would be impossible to catch up.  There’s like 20 books in this series!  But I must read them.
6.  A Verse Book (Mainly Lisa Schroeder)
Angela and Loretta are the QUEENS of these.  And I must get on it, one day.. soon. That should TOTALLY go in my Fall Into Autumn Reading Challenge list!
7.  The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
I mean, who doesn’t love this series? Its hard to find anyone!  One day.. I promise.
8.  A Stephen King Horror Book (Misery, Cujo, The Shining, etc.)
I loved the Green Mile with all my heart.  But this man is the horror KING and I do not want to be tossing my Nook/book under my bed and having nightmares at 27!
9.  Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
Okay, I can BELIEVE this one but with all the hype that occurred.. I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon til I was sure I may like it.

That’s about it though!
Let me know your thoughts and leave your links below!

Top Ten Tuesday! Awesome Books Edition.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fabulous Broke and the Bookish.
Join in the fun.  Its awesomeness at its finest.

This weeks topic is: Top Ten Books You’ve Read during the lifespan of your blog.

*Note: My blog is only three months old, making my pickings a bit more slim!*

1. Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth
2. Where She Went by Gayle Forman
3. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
4. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller
5. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
6. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
7. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
8. Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt
9. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
10. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

All of these were such memorable, amazing reads.  I loved each and every one.  HOWEVER, if I were to spotlight one, it would be Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt.  This IS an adult novel, however there is a 14 year old girl as the main character.  It is an enriching story about growing up, love and loss.  I HIGHLY recommend it!  The link is above, as are all the others.  😀
In my short time blogging, I have read such great books, I can only hope this pattern continues!

Top Ten Tuesday (Its been a while!)

We all know the FABULOUS Broke and the Bookish hosts

Top Ten Tuesday,
be sure to join in, it is TONS of fun!
This weeks topic: What fictional couples do you think would make it in the real world?

  • Jase and Samantha – My Life Next Door: I mean come on, they honestly compliment each other so well, and she can be herself around him and not worry as she always does!
  • Noah and Echo– Pushing the Limits: If you read my review, you know I feel these two are more of a meant to be couple than any I have ever read about.
  • Ezra and Aria- Pretty Little Liars:  Okay, mayyybee I’m being crazy, but I figure if they’ve overcome everything they have already, they have a fighting chance!
  • Noah and Mara- The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer:  They are just freakin’ awesome.  Him with his subtle ways and her with her… tendencies.  They mesh well, and I love every moment of it!
  • Adam and Juliette- Shatter Me:  I don’t care. Those can say what they want.  Adam is perfect for Juliette because they can fight anyone together.  Not apart.  Together.
  • Adam and Mia– If I Stay/Where She Went: Clearly I’ve got double Noah’s and Adam’s here! BUT I just ADOREEE Adam and Mia.  They are so much in pain, but the pain seems to come from longing for each other.  It’s so cute.  I love them. All relationships should be like theirs.  Filled with love and trust.
  • Alex and Lena- Delirium Series:  This will break my heart if it doesn’t happen.  That will be all.
  • Four and Tris– Divergent Series:  Talk about a kick-ass couple!  Like DAMN.  These two will take the world (or at least Chicago!) by storm.  I’m convinced.
There’s so many more!  But I don’t have the time to list EVERY couple I feel would make it.  😉
Stay tuned tomorrow!  Interview with HUNTLEY FITZPATRICK as well as Cover Lovin‘ Post!

Cover Lovin! (1)

Feel free! Just link me back and use the weekly image.

Unravel Me: Tahereh Mafi
I mean COME ON.  This is so intricate and beautiful.
Plus, I have a thing for eyes to begin with!  Just give it to me!

Followed by, more amazingness provided by ..

Last Summer: Rebecca Rogers
This book was awesome.  And the cover is just perfect. The shadows the sunset the font even!  I just love it!  And if you read this book, which you better! You’ll see it is a perfect match for the book!

Where I was WRONG…

The Outsiders: S.E. Hinton

Probably (for the record) one of my favorite books EVER.  But this cover, I’m sorry, I get we got some guys on there, but this does not appeal to me at all!  I would have never picked it up had it not been forced on me back in eighth grade!

That is IT for this weeks edition of Cover Lovin!  Stay tuned next Wednesday for some more!

Top Ten Tuesday (7/24)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, participate! Its way fun 😉
This weeks topic is: Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings in Books

Usually, I post this early.  Today I worked 12 hours and had no time.  But it was eating me alive to not have a TTT post done.  So here I am, first writing it at 9:15 at night.  This is for my devotion to my blog and my readers, and my sanity. Let’s get this show on the road!  All links go to Goodreads, as per usual.

1- The Hunger Games: Suzanne Collins– Honestly, who didn’t picture themselves in the arena at least once while reading Suzanne Collins’ epic trilogy?

2- Anna & The French Kiss: Stephanie Perkins– Miss Perkins knows how to paint us a lovely picture of Paris, that’s for sure! I went to the movies with Anna, did touristy things with her and St. Clare and had a flat out ball!

3- Shatter Me: Tahereh Mafi- That prison was bleak, dark, and cold! And I felt it all.  Tahereh Mafi transported me throughout this entire novel, and it was freakin’ awesome.

4- Where She Went: Gayle Forman– The second installment was WAY better in my eyes (second to If I Stay) for many reasons, but Where She Went took me through New York City in such a beautiful way.  I had meals with Adam while exploring the city, and felt every emotion he did.  It was amazing.  Gayle Forman, props to you.
5-1st To Die: James Patterson- James Patterson had to make my list.  This was my first novel of his that I ever read, but let me tell you I was on a murder investigation with Lindsay Boxer and her crew.  I was in that police station and kicking ass morning til’ night.  He is SO good at painting the picture for the reader.  Ugh, James & I are always gonna  be tight! 😉

I’m not going to push it.  I don’t want to add to the list just to get to ten.  These are the ones I feel VERY strongly about.  I was sucked into their world and couldn’t get out.  This isn’t something that happens with every book!  But when it does, damn I just love it!  So you are aware, before I am asked, Harry Potter is not on my list solely because I have not read it.  I thought you should all know.

Anyway, til the next time, see ya !  Oh, and since I’m wired from being overtired from a 12 hour work day, tweet me, comment me, whatever, I’ll be answering til the wee hours of the mornin’!
